Women shaping her face for aesthetic services

Aesthetic Services

Aesthetic services are minimally invasive cosmetic treatments designed to improve the appearance of your skin or body. These services are elective, so they aren’t covered by health insurance. Even so, they can help you look and feel your best.

  • Do aesthetic services require more than one visit?

Some aesthetic services, like Botox, only require one appointment. While others require a series of appointments spaced several weeks or months apart. To ensure everything goes smoothly, follow your provider’s instructions and attend each of your scheduled checkups.

  • What type of aesthetic services will benefit me?

To determine the type of aesthetic services that will most benefit you, your Rapha Health and Wellness provider reviews your medical records and asks about your goals. After gathering that information, they make custom treatment recommendations.
Call the nearest Rapha Health and Wellness office to schedule an aesthetic services consultation, or book one online today.

woman getting Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers:Juvederm® Injections

Juvederm® is a cosmetic treatment referred to as a filler. It's used to restore facial contours and improve signs of aging. It's an injectable dermal filler with a base of hyaluronic acid. It's a treatment that focuses on the face, specifically the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth.
● Relatively inexpensive, especially when compared to plastic surgery procedures● Requires no allergy testing, as the hyaluronic acid it contains is human-based and safe ● Smoothing and plumping up of both deep facial wrinkles and creases are immediately apparent● Can also be used to safely augment the lips
Available in our Sugar Land and Houston offices, as well as at our sister company, RHW Med Spa.

  • What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid, or HA, is a natural substance in the body that delivers volume to the skin. Modified HA is the main ingredient behind JUVÉDERM®. Getting treated with JUVÉDERM® helps add volume to different areas of the face without surgery while also temporarily restoring the volume loss beneath the surface.

  • How Juvederm® Works

Juvederm® products are a smooth consistency gel, compared to some hyaluronic gel products that have a granular consistency. Juvederm® products are developed using the Hylacross technology to allow a smoother, malleable gel. Hyaluronic acid works by holding in water at the injection site and acting as a cushioning agent. It adds temporary volume and a smoother appearance to skin.
Juvederm® XC products also contain the local anesthetic lidocaine for a more comfortable injection as this numbs the treatment area within seconds. The Juvederm® Ultra XC products contain more highly cross-linked formulations for volumizing and correction of deeper folds and wrinkles.

  • Juvederm® Injections FAQs

How much Juvederm® serum is used per treatment area? You’ll likely get one to two syringes full of Juvederm injected into each area. You may need less or more depending on your specific concerns.
How is Juvederm®different from Botox or Dysport?Botox and Dysport work to inhibit muscle movements that control certain facial motions. Juvederm® is a filler that corrects lines, wrinkles and skin hollowness that are noticeable when the face is at rest.
When will results be seen? You should see results the same day of your treatment after your session is complete.

woman getting botox

Botox® is a cosmetic injectable that minimizes the appearance of forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and crow’s feet. A series of Botox injections can make your skin appear both younger and smoother.
Benefits of Botox® Injections:● Treatment is fast and easy● No recovery downtime required ● An affordable, less-invasive alternative to surgery● Immediately visible results
Available in our Sugar Land and Houston offices, as well as at our sister company, RHW Med Spa.

  • How Botox® Cosmetic Works

Botox Cosmetic® is an injectable serum that’s often given to reduce the appearance of frown, smile lines, wrinkles, and any other facial lines that are usually caused by repeated muscle contractions from facial expressions. When Botox is injected, the underlying muscle activity in these problem areas is reduced temporarily. This reduction in muscle activity helps to smoothen over the lines and wrinkles so that you’ll be able to restore a youthful glow to your face.

  • Botox® Injections FAQs

How long does a single treatment session last? When you come in for a Botox® treatment session, you’ll likely be finished receiving your injections in 15 to 30 minutes. This can be especially great if you’re looking for a quick treatment to squeeze in on your lunch break.
How often should Botox® be given? The effects of Botox® can usually last from three to six months before additional treatments are needed to maintain results.
Can Botox® be used on other parts of the body?Botox® is sometimes injected into sweat glands located in the armpits and other parts of the body to reduce excessive sweating. Patients who experience TMJ disorders can often experience relief from pain and tightness when Botox is injected into the area around the jaw joint.

PRP (Scalp)

PRP, or Platelet-Rich Plasma, is a medical treatment that uses a patient's blood to help heal injuries or damage to tendons, ligaments, muscles, joints, and skin. The process involves drawing blood from the patient and then separating the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood using a machine. After numbing the plasma with local anesthesia, the doctor then injects it into the targeted area. The platelets in the injected plasma release growth factors, stimulating the body's natural healing process. PRP injections effectively treat conditions such as torn tendons, tendinitis, muscle injuries, arthritis-related pain, and joint injuries. They are also used in cosmetic procedures to treat hair loss caused by androgenic alopecia, also known as male or female pattern baldness in both men and women.
Available in Sugar Land and Houston.

  • Venus Velocity

Hair grows in a cycle of three stages: anagen (growth), catagen (transitional), and telogen (resting). The Venus Velocity™ laser uses technology to target the hair follicle in the anagen phase, which is when the hair responds best to the treatment. About 30% of hair is in this phase at any given time, which is why you need multiple treatments to see results. The Venus Velocity™ diode laser works by delivering energy to the hair follicle, where it’s absorbed by the hair pigment. This destroys the follicle so that the hair cannot grow anymore, resulting in permanent hair reduction.
FEATURES:Fast treatments - No downtime - Comfortable for all skin tones

  • Laser Hair Removal FAQs

How many laser hair removal treatments should I receive?
The exact number of treatments will depend on your skin and hair type along with the specific areas that are being treated. In general, four to six treatments per area should be performed.

After an individual treatment session, when will I need to return for additional sessions?
Each treatment is typically spaced four to eight weeks apart from one another over an entire treatment course.

How should I prepare for treatment?
Prior to a session, please ensure that your skin is clean and free of lotions or creams. Jewelry that might interfere with the treatment shouldn’t be worn. If you’re getting hair removal on your face, cosmetics should also not be applied immediately prior to treatment.

Chemical Peel

During a chemical peel, your provider applies a medical-grade solution to the skin on your face and/or hands. The solution causes the top layer of old, damaged skin to peel away, revealing new, healthy, and vibrant skin beneath. Chemical peels can minimize the appearance of acne scars, skin discoloration, and other common blemishes.
Benefits of Chemical Peel● Reduces fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth● Treats wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging● Improves the appearance of mild scars● Treats certain types of acne and unclogs pores● Reduces age spots, freckles, and dark patches● Improves the look and feel of skin
Available in our Sugar Land and Houston offices, as well as at our sister company, RHW Med Spa.

  • Chemical Peel Session

During a chemical peel, we will apply the exfoliant acid first to the thicker areas of skin, such as the chin, nose, and cheeks, before applying it to the thinner areas around the eyes and mouth. After the chemical peel, we may use cool saline compresses to remove any remaining exfoliant.
Chemical peels often cause redness and peeling, which may take 1–2 weeks to go away. It is important to keep the face dry and not to shower or use face wash for the first 24 hours.

  • Chemical Peel FAQs

What is a chemical peel?A special chemical solution is applied to the skin for a specified amount of time to initiate the removal of the outermost layer of skin or deeper skin layers. The time the solution is left on the skin varies between 2–15 minutes, depending on the type of peel, peel treatment number, and the skins’ response to the solution.
What are the contraindications?Peels are not recommended for people with very sensitive skin, active cold sores, undiagnosed lesions, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis or lupus.
What areas can be treated?Peels can be applied to the entire face or individual areas that require treatment, such as sun damage or to control acne. * Other areas that can be treated are the neck and décolleté.
How many peels I need? This is a variable and depends on your skin condition and skin type. All peels are customized to each individual, but all are managed using a step-up approach, which begins at the superficial layer with gradual increases to enable the skin to safely and effectively reach a Level 3 peel, if required. In general 4–8 peels are needed for optimum results, scheduled every 10–14 days or as required.* Please note: chemical peels are not effective for removal of medium or deep acne scars and will not clear skin from acne, if used as a stand-alone procedure.
What other treatments can be done with a chemical peel?Effective combinations for skin rejuvenation and acne control include: microdermabrasion (micropeel), laser photofacials or laser genesis. Customized combination therapy can be discussed during your complimentary consultation.
What should I expect during & after the treatment?Chemical peels are usually very gentle and create a temporary sensation of tingling (activity) or warm flushing to the skin during application. Your skin may be pink for several hours after a treatment, and you may experience some tightening of the skin, which may last for several days. Typically, you may return to work right after the peel. The amount of peeling, if any, varies from person to person. You may see light to medium flaking by two or three days after the treatment. Depending on the type of peel, flaking up may last up to five or six days, while some clients may experience very little peeling.

PDO Threads

If you're looking for a non-surgical solution to lift and tighten your facial skin, a PDO thread lift may be the perfect choice. This procedure uses Polydioxanone (PDO) threads that are expertly inserted into different layers of skin, offering an immediate lifting and tightening effect. The benefits continue, however. This treatment can enhance skin texture for long-lasting results by stimulating collagen production and cellular renewal. A PDO thread lift is an excellent option for those who want to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without undergoing major surgery. With the added benefits of collagen production, this procedure can provide even more benefits over time.
Available in Sugar Land and Houston.

Microneedling involves your Rapha Health and Wellness provider using a handheld tool called a derma roller to make a series of microscopic puncture wounds across the surface of your skin. These wounds trigger the production of collagen and elastin, proteins that help your skin look younger.
Benefits of Microneedling● A better alternative to surgery● Results look and feel natural● The appearance of scars can be reduced● Softens fine lines and wrinkles● Improves the firmness and texture of your skin● Prevents signs of aging
Available in our Sugar Land and Houston offices, as well as at our sister company, RHW Med Spa.

  • Skin Pen Microneedling

Skin Pen Microneedling skin resurfacing treatments work with tiny pins that safely deliver heat (via NanoFractional Radio Frequency) through the skin’s surface. This creates tiny micro-dermal wounds, which the body naturally heals on its own. This process repairs signs of skin damage visible on the surface of the skin. Since the wounds are so small, the treatment is much more comfortable than traditional CO2 lasers, while still producing incredibly visible results.
SAFE FOR ALL SKIN TONES:Unlike most other skin resurfacing treatments that are not safe for darker skin tones, Venus Viva™ skin resurfacing is safe for all ethnicities, even for darker complexions.
LOW TO NO DOWNTIME:Return to your daily skin care routine 24 hours after skin resurfacing treatments. No downtime at all for wrinkle reduction treatments.
QUICK TREATMENTS:Sessions last only 15–30 minutes.

  • Microneedling FAQs

How long does a treatment session take to complete?A single session can be completed in as little as 20 or 30 minutes.
How often will I need to repeat treatments? After a microneedling treatment session, you can go as long as six months to a year before coming back for another treatment to maintain the results.
Can microneedling enhance the effectiveness of topical skin products?Microneedling can make topical products that are applied to the skin more effective by allowing for deeper infiltration. This will allow the products to penetrate deeper into the skin’s layers so that they can improve skin quality even more.

  • HydraFacial FAQs

How long does a facial session usually last?
Your session may last anywhere from 50 to 75 minutes, but your time with us may be shortened or lengthened depending on your personal preferences and specific skin needs.

Can getting a facial also help reverse signs of aging?
The body’s collagen levels can be increased from getting a facial, and this additional collagen can help improve the skin’s buoyancy and make you look younger.

What should I do after treatment?
You won’t need to worry about scheduling any recovery time after receiving a facial. It’s best to refrain from using toner or harsh cleaners that could irritate the skin for the first few days after your session. You should also avoid scrubbing your face vigorously for a few days.
